Michael Pattison is a critic and filmmaker from Gateshead, UK. He has contributed to many international publications, including Sight & Sound, MUBI Notebook, Reverse Shot and RogerEbert.com. In addition to participating in more than 15 festival juries since 2014, Michael has devised and tutored several workshops for early-career film journalists, including the FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project. Currently, he is completing a PhD in film practice at Newcastle University. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, his work responds to questions of urban space.
