Graziano Mangoni was born in Mantova in 1946. Although his studies were technical – he graduated in Business Studies – he has always had a natural inclination for literature, with cultural interests ranging from theatre to cinema to jazz.
Working firstly as an upper secondary teacher, then as manager of External Relations, Press and Research at the Mantova Confindustria (with stints in Rome and in Milan with Federlombardia), and as assistant to the President and the General Manager of the Banca Agricola Mantovana, he had postings to Germany, Bielrussia and above all the Soviet Union and Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), for major banking projects.
Since 2000 he has been the General Manager of the Banca Agricola Mantovana Foundation, operating in the sectors of culture and artistic heritage, education and scientific research and in the social field. This role enabled him to contribute to the creation, in 2006-2007, of the Mantova Theatre School and the Mantova Film Commission Association which in that period produced, co-produced and collaborated in the making of 44 film productions in the Mantova area.
He helped to bring to Mantova the FICE National Arthouse Festival, of which the ninth edition was opened in October 2017 in Virgil’s hometown.
